NRA BASICS RIFLE

This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles.

Students will learn the knowledge and skills:

• NRA’s rules for safe gun handling

• Multiple Rifle parts and operation

• Ammunition knowledge

• Shooting fundamentals

• Range rules

• Shooting from the bench rest

• Prone position

• Seated position

• Proper stance

• Kneeling position

• Cleaning care and maintenance

• Continued opportunities for skill development

Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, complete the Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Your .22 lr rifle in a proper hard or soft case

• 150 rounds of .22 lr caliber ammunition NO LIVE AMMUNITION IN CLASSROOM!! (AMMO WILL BE STORED IN A SEPARATE ROOM)

• Ear and eye protection.

• Lunch

• Hydration

• Highlighter and pen

• Note taking paper

If you do not currently own a rifle we have rifles available at no additional charge (you must purchase ammunition when using a HPP Firearm).
