HUNTER EDUCATION @ BASS PRO SHOPS

About the Event

HUNTER EDUCATION CERTIFICATE $5 CASH will be collected. Receive your hunter education certificate by attending this instructional class. Students under the age of 18 must attend an in-person class to complete their Hunter Education Certificate.

Students may complete their free workbook (available at NDOW offices) or complete the online course at hunter-ed.com. STUDENTS MUST PRINT THE PROOF OF HOME STUDY from the online course and bring it with them to class or bring a COMPLETED WORKBOOK. Any age student may gain access to the class with their completed workbook or their online home study completion certificate.

This class is mostly indoors

Dress in athletic clothing for hands on portion of class (Room can get cold)

Bring drinks to stay hydrated and a lunch

Please bring a good learning attitude 🙂

Bass Pro Shops is next to the Silverton Casino and Hotel

Classroom is located in the Bass Pro Shops Conservation room on the second floor.

Requirements

Independent Study Requirement

Students must finish independent study course work before attending the class. Students have three options for this home study requirement:

Today’s Hunter workbook (obtain the workbook and Today’s Hunter-Nevada student manual for free through any regional NDOW office)

Hunter-Ed.com (with an additional fee)

HUNTERcourse.com (with an additional fee)

NOTE: Students must bring their completed workbook or Nevada Online Course Completion Confirmation (printed from the hunter-ed.com and huntercourse.com websites upon successful completion) to the class to gain admittance.

Class Fee

A $5 CASH Fee will be collected at the beginning of the class.

Age Policy

There is no minimum age required to take the class. However, students under the age of 11 are required to attend with an adult. The parent(s) or guardian(s) of minor students are required to check-in the minor student(s) with NDOW instructor(s) at the beginning of class and pick-up their student(s) from the instructor(s) at class end. Under no circumstances are minor students to be dropped off or picked up without notifying the instructor(s). Parents or guardians are also solely responsible for student transportation and should notify the instructor(s) at the beginning of class if someone other than a parent or guardian is picking up the student after class.

Overview

Hunter Education will teach you the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to become a safe and responsible hunter.

Hunter Education is a requirement to hunt in Nevada.

Is Hunter Education Required in Order to Buy a License?

Yes, in many cases. In order to buy a license, Nevada requires that hunters who were born after January 1, 1960, must first complete a course approved by the Nevada Department of Wildlife and IHEA-USA.
